Wasps Open Studios Poster

I created a poster design to promote Wasps’ Open Studios in Dundee.

The event is due to take place on 6th - 7th May in Meadow Mill.

I have been based in the Wasps Artists’ Studios in Dundee since January 2021 and have attended Open Studios events there since I was in high school. It was lovely to have the opportunity to collate those memories of exploring studios and different spaces into the poster design, which features little windows into lots of different studio spaces.

I drew within a grid format, showing how each individual takes ownership of each of the spaces, making them completely unique. The drawings were made from a combination of observation and memory, and roughly feature some friends’ studios, and some of the studios I remember visiting.

Usually I would erase pencil marks and sketchy bits of drawings, but I thought it might be nice to leave them in, since the purpose of the open studios is to feature the ‘behind-the-scenes’ of artists and designers work.
