PechaKuchaNight Dundee Vol.30 Illustration
I was commissioned by Creative Dundee to create an illustration promoting their 30th Pecha Kucha Night, to be held in Dundee Rep on Thursday 9th November 2023.
Creative Dundee requested the illustration to encompass themes of celebration, as it was the organisation’s 15th birthday. They also asked if it could include recognisable Dundee landmarks. I created a playful illustration from above the Law, looking towards Dundee East, and including the Tay Road Bridge, the Law Monument, Hilltown Clock, Baxter Park and the arches in Hilltown Park to spot within the illustration.
I also spoke alongside the incredible speakers on the night, speaking about my 100 day drawing project and love for sketchbooks.
PechaKucha Flags
It was lovely to have the opportunity to have the Pecha Kucha illustration printed and handmade into more than 400 flags for attendees to hold and wave in celebration of Creative Dundee’s 15th birthday. I created two alternate colour schemes of the initial illustration so attendees could choose their favourite at the event.
PechaKucha Talk
I was excited (and very nervous) to be invited as a speaker to PechaKuchaNight Vol.30.
I spoke about my 100 day drawing project, my love for drawing and sketchbooks since I was young, and why I think everyone should find some time to do something their little self would have loved.
